The Learjet 85 is the first business jet with both fuselage and wing built primarily from carbon composites and designed for type certification under the U.S. Federal Aviation Regulation FAR Part 25. Set to revolutionize the industry, the composite structure will increase passenger comfort by allowing for the use of complex curves in the aircraft cross-section, thinner wall thickness to maximize cabin volume and optimized placement of windows and other cut-outs.
The advantages don’t stop there. In addition to improving performance and minimizing drag through smoother aerodynamics, the composite airframe requires less maintenance, is easier to repair and ensures extended service life. Increasing both the value of the aircraft and your peace-of-mind.
The aircraft is currently under development and the design and the design tolerances remain to be finalized and certified. The aircraft is subject to change during the course of the design, manufacture and certification process.
